The new Manufacturing and Automotive Innovation Hub in London is open!

On Friday, November 30th, over 100 leaders in the automotive and manufacturing sectors, OGDs and academia representatives gathered at the NRC in London to mark the official opening of the newly renovated scientific laboratories. Our President, Iain Stewart, in addition to other special guest speakers such as Jason Myers, CEO of the NGen Supercluster, Warren Ali, Vice-President Innovation, Automotive Parts Manufacturers’ Association, Ray Tanguay, former Automotive Advisor to the Government of Canada and Government of Ontario and François Cordeau, VP Manufacturing and Transportation, shared their insight on the increasing demands for Industry 4.0 technologies, for driverless applications and for digital manufacturing advancements.

This renovation is part of a national deepening of NRC’s commitment to supporting Canadian manufacturers with their research and technology needs‎ by offering a workplace where collaboration is at the heart of a scientific project, and where alliances with the industry, OGDs and academia are developed to engage in emerging technologies. The vision is to create a vibrant hub of expertise with world leading technology, practical expertise, platforms to demonstrate and de-risk new technology, and collaborative space to harness experts to join their knowledge and address these challenges together.

Now that our Manufacturing and Automotive Innovation Hub is open we invite readers to contact us to find out how companies can use the hub to advance their technology development. As the Team Leader of the Automotive Engineering group, I can be reached at stephen.sweeney@nrc-cnrc.gc.ca
